Your little cousin has a beautiful voice, her accent was cute as well.

That audio clip is so charming, listening to you talk to her about stage freight and reassuring her about her talent... so endearing. Precious even!

I've missed your tweets and blogs, but I'm really glad you had a wonderful week off the grid.

The clip of your cousin singing was beautiful. The song makes shivers run up and down my spine.

Cannot wait to get the DVD, I've been looking forward to one so much.

You are so inspiring, in every way. And I can imagine it's difficult to suddenly realize you'd like to pause, but what a magnificent transition. You're probably getting in touch with the magic of taking breaths in part because there's a level of contentment here you haven't known before. Altering reality is a difficult thing -- rewiring your brain for new desires is a difficult thing, but you're used to holding Vastness, so it looks, from here, like you've got this one...

Anyway. Thank you for being in love, for sharing your love, for making all the things you make. And if I can add something about all the transformations occurring in so many lives right now -- worlds aren't just colliding, they're not just collapsing and disintegrating, they're actively creating whole new planets.

Without life, you'd have nothing to write about. im glad you havent rushed or forced yourself into doing another album too soon. its good to let the work breathe, and let life wash over you, re-inspiring you.

your blogs hauntingly echo my own situation. the house i'm in now feels like my haven... in a town with very little i've acquired my own little fortress of solitude, filled with love and friendship.

someone once said you cant be in love and create a masterpiece at the same time.

i think love is the masterpiece all artists are chasing. once you've got it, it can empty your reserves a little. but when you figure it out, you can incorporate, involve, evolve and start pushing a whole different set of boundaries.

Sounds like the Queen of Sheep has found a place to be.

and being is so very important.

I'm so happy that you are winding down and enjoy some real comfort living. So much beauty has grown from you this past year, and you need to replenish that soil. I'm glad to see that you have loving people in your life to supply that, but I'm not surprised. You inspire love in a lot of people, and the love you make, and so on and so forth. I can't wait to read about the makings of the videos!!!

pipe organ...! i have been working at a painting of you and a pipe organ the past couple weeks. if it truly happens, hope there's video! your young cousin with the beautiful voice must keep singing. when listening to the clip, i took your word of advice, too.

any advice for swooning, twitterpated lesbians? i live in perpetual suspense!. pic of you in suit pains me!

You are an amazing human being and I want you to know that.
You are one of my idols, and I listen to your music continuallly-- I cannot wait for more!

I don't know if you remember, but you signed my forehead at a show in the fall of 2007, about a year before WKAP came out.

As a musician to another musican: KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!

11pm London time is late afternoon, early evening in North America. Did the sheep steal your watch?

Your wee cousin is cute as a button and I love hearing gaelic sung! It's a funny language to listen to it spoken- lots of back-of-the-throat consonants- but when it's sung, it just comes alive. That is what it was made for. :)

I don't think the suit makes you look like a dyke. I think it makes you look like a person. In a suit.

Oh, Amanda Palmer. I'm glad you enjoyed your vacation from the internet, but this was fun to read, so it's nice to have you back, as well.

Lovely. Did your cousin translate Hallelujah herself, do you know? I'm still not sure if I prefer her version or the one you played at Dreams of Steam...

I'm really pleased Chris's family sort-of-adopted you, and not just because it meant we got briefly introduced (after I returned that painting I'd kept safe for you upstairs at the Big Red Door). Mostly just because they're great.

I guess the sheeps in Scotland must be friendlier. I went to the Lake District and all they did was run away from me.:( Can't wait until that Silent Movie comes on the telly. Your cousins are reall sweet btw. :)

Your cousin's voice is absolutely lovely. You should get her in the studio for your next project and feature her in a song!

Ah! What is the name of that place in London? Is it accessible to the public? I would like to buy a pretty dress, but all I've got is ten quid, an Oystercard, and a dream. Oh man, anyway, congratulations on having exciting adventures, you look like a million dollars in that suit. (That tie, those wingtips!)

Amanda, you are just wonderful; what more can I say? (I'll think of something.) :)

Queen of the sheep? I am very jealous. I want sheep to obey me. Cherish that title, Amanda. Cherish it with all your might.

Aww, shame it's on a Sunday night. Sadly, school is officially rearing its ugly head. We'll try and ask but we may just get laughed at/a lovely long lecture. It's worth trying (:

I want to hear your musical. So badly.

Oh my god. Ten and her voice sounds like that? She's in for a career with talent like that hopefully. And she'll know from her Aunt Amanda to tell Roadrunner where they can stick their offer (:

VERY excited about seeing the silent movie. Honestly can't wait^^

Having just moved into a very old house and having no internet means forced lack of twitter and other such goodness- and I hear what you're saying about not missing it when it's not around. It's kind of like caffeine withdrawal- three days later, the headache is gone and I'm fine.

"Rock on with your motherfucking smock on" might be the coolest thing I've heard all week. If it's not a shirt by the end of the year, I'll be sorely disappointed. Or at least a smock? I dunno if the smock is due for its comeback or not.

And let me ask this, since the talk of it seems to have died down: are copies of the book still available, or am I going to have to wait for someone who has one to die so I can steal it from the pile by the side of the road when their parents find it and are horrified that their child's been hawking back pictures of a dead woman with no eyebrows?

it's hard to measure happiness. oftentimes i question whether or not we should. i glad you had such a wonderful time with Neil away from the wired world. also nice to know i'm not the only person who admires sheep in a non-intimate fashion :)

Sarah has a gorgeous voice. You are the world's best dyke. And I am hoping that you guys will help us here in the states be able to see this silent film? (I *heart* Bill Nighy)
    ~Cecily
  • June_Miller · 2 months ago
Bill Nighy. A gifted British actor, but I mainly know him as Phillip from Shaun of the Dead. And you're doing a silent film together.

Palmer. You know the way to my faggy-ass-goth-kid heart. Bless you.

Rest assured, when you're not dating men, you truly are the world's best dyke. June_Miller approved. Though your current choice of fellas isn't too shabby, either. Either way, you're thoroughly rocking that suit. Indeed, as though it were by a hurricane.

    ...

It must be important to take advantage of the simple, homelike things that you generally don't get when on the road.

Funny thing is, I crave things like that, and I'm not even on the road all the time, yet.

There is a difference between living somewhere, and feeling at home somewhere. I certainly never felt at home, at home. I enjoy where I live now much more, but it's still not home. It's living.

    ...

Who said anything about touring, anyway? You should just come and hang out. We can drink and be merry and look at the stars/moon from my roommate's deck.

    ...

I'm going to listen to your cousin's recording when I have a bit of privacy and some headphones. I've no doubt it's delightful.

It's easy to relate to her paralyzing fear of being recorded in front of..everyone. But I'm glad she got past it.

Fun fact: The lyrics to "Bohemian Rhapsody" are permanently embedded into my brain because, when I was about 3...maybe 4, I used to lip sync to it because my sister put it on a mix-tape. And I used to safety-pin a blanket around my neck as a FABULOUS cape in the process, causing my (much longer) hair to poof out perfectly around my neck just as Mr. Freddie's did in the video. I performed it for my sister, my mom and my cousin.

    With my back facing them.

    Good times.

(And I can still hit that high note perfectly, thank you.)

    ...

    From the newest newest blog:
'i’d also learned something about simply letting go and letting the videos be what they wanted to be instead of trying to make them look the way they were in my head.
if you are ever making a video, or a film for that matter, but especially a low-budget video, i warn you against falling prey to the “but it’s not like i imagined it” syndrome.

this actually applies to any and all art. it will be one way in your head. then it will look different on the canvas. you deal, you adjust, you change your head-picture, you adjust.
the ability to deal is the talent, not the perfection in your head. nobody will ever see the perfection in your head. sorry.

this is why some artists kill themselves.'

Thank you. This is something we all need to keep in mind.

All your videos came out wonderfully.

I want to help you however I can. I will try to get this DVD. Please don't beat me up if I don't, immediately.

    ...

    You're lovely.

    Take care.

edit: I also forgot: Jam out with your clam out. Thank you.
