    Do love.
I am printing this off as I type so that I can do it in calligraphy and paste it onto my AP chem notesbook. Or paint it somewhere. Or simply sing it from the rooftops.

    Warmest wishes,
    Greta

So soooo unbelievably true ^.^ It's better to live in failure than regret any day! Never be afraid to go out and risk because that's when you get the best things out of life!

    Dont go into the light!

So lovely, thank you Ms. Amanda. I've heard lots of people talking about how they wish the blogs were more detailed, longer, less image heavy, about 'more important thing', but fuck all that noise. This is beautiful.
  • Christine · 2 months ago
How are you so fucking awesome? It honestly blows my mind every day.
  • stjimmy · 2 months ago
Thank you Amanda, I really needed that :,)
  • riotbug · 2 months ago
I tell myself this every time I lose a friend.

I love your blogs and you inspire me Amanda. I'm gutted I didn't get to see you In Edinburgh. Next year!!

Keep the image heavy blogs coming :D

Honey, thank you so much for posting that... every word from that spoke to me in volumes that I cannot even put into words to explain. Things have been so hard right now and sometimes I want to dive into solitude and other times I want to run away and experience everything I possibly can.. but I think it really all comes down to love and loving yourself... which is the hardest part, the learning to love yourself.
See you at the TLA! <3
  • Drea · 2 months ago
Thank you so much for that. I have been broken. And I will continue to taste as many as I can.
  • Summer Rose · 2 months ago
Life practically means nothing in solitude. It's the lovely people you interact with that bring out the color in the world around you, and the nasty folk you can't stand that help one grow to love those caring folks around them even more. Life is appreciation, color, and the air you breathe, even if it means tasting complete sorrow and mistreatment once in a while. Life can be bitter, but it's that sweet tinge that will peek through the bad that keeps you going at it.

It reminds me of a mixture between "Realm of Possibility" by David Levithan and "Mad Apple". Gorgeous poem, with a matching and equally amazing photo. Love it. Hope you don't mind my essay of an interpretation. :P

    Such true words...
Just ordered the book from Amazon. Better to live your life to the full and do everything you want to do, rather than leave this planet full of "What if...." or "I wish I had...."

May I suggest you listen to the song "Everybody's Free (To wear sunscreen) - Baz Luhrmann" speaks many true words, and makes you wake up to things that you should do in your life.

Okay, that's it. Out of my head. I almost can't deal with how close to home that hits in this moment.

It isn't broken that apple tree. It is just getting ready to give of itself again. A sweetness that fills your heart with joy, even when life is trying to break you.

I just wrote that on my wall in red marker...haha.

I have officially dubbed this week "The week of Murphy's Law." Because everything that could have gone wrong has. This evening I find myself feeling particularly battered and weakened. Fights with good friends over relationships that are solely my responsibility. Financial obligations I cannot even attempt to make. Academia. No support.
I am tired, my mental capacity is slightly diminished.

This reminded me why I do the things I do, and why I am with who I am with, and why I shouldn't care just who I piss off at the day's end. .

Amanda, you save me more often than you know. . . You are a gem and an inspiration.
With all my heart and love. . . Thank you.

Louise Erdrich is amazing... thank you for both posting this, and bringing her name to peoples consciousness. A writer worth reading, or remembering if you've read her before.

I love you. Im stuck studying biochemistry at fuckin 10 pm the day before my exam because things just couldn´t go more wrong today. Thanks for making me smile in the middle of all this chaos.

Thank you for posting that, in a way it helped. (My love life is a 1000 piece puzzle and i can't even find the corners and i've got the picture side down.) But if I could, I'd still ask you how you're doing..? But i know you have friends to ask you that. But if they don't ..well, I bet you tell them without asking.

Thing is, if I told myself that right now, I'd be fucking lying.
    Thanks for posting that, though.
I will make it a point to taste as many as I can, and perhaps more importantly, to allow myself to enjoy the ones I do taste, no matter how small they may seem at the moment. Might as well.
    You have a beautiful back.
  • tonyvalen · 2 months ago
Wow. I just read the comments on this, and an overwhelming majority of us thanked you for the post. How fucked up are we, that these words speak to so many of us at a personal level? And why do we feel the need to thank you, as if you had spoken them to us alone? Not just on this post, either.

    Got me thinking.

(Do you ever get tired of people thanking you for stuff?)

It's all about the scars, the wrinkles, the worry lines, the smile lines, the calluses on your feet and on your fingers. These are the only evidence of a life worth living, these are the things that stick with you till the end. Thanks for the quote, consider my heart completely and utterly uplifted.

  • lottaa · 2 months ago
That's pretty impressive, I like it.

    you have to love.
    you have to feel.
it is the reason you are here on earth.
you are here to risk your heart.
you are here to be swallowed up.

    Beautiful..

And I like the photo! That room is perfect.

That's beautiful. And true. And always, personally relevant.

    Thanks for reminding me.

This little heart is glowing, now.
