I am still crying. Whether one is familiar with Ukrainian history or not (but especially if one is), it just takes your breath away...

This is simply stunning. I watched it about three times after Neil posted it on twitter. I love stumbling on random videos on the net. It's my best source of entertainment.

Every time something was destroyed I got so sad, but it always turned into something else equally powerful.

I have seen fervor like this before: in one Ms. Amanda Palmer's piano playing. Both of you are incredible artists.

    Never stop creating.

At work this was passed around and a coworker of mine who speaks Russian detailed this a bit more:

"For those that do not understand Russian: it starts with the original radio announcement on June 22, 1941 German army invading the Soviet Union. Followed by very popular songs written about the WWII. In short a story about a woman that loses her loved one in that war but their child is a memory of their love. The last words are: "You are always near me"."

I was finally able to take the time to watch this. Wow.

What really made it more emotional for me was being able to put the lyrics into the last song (she used the Apocalyptica version of "Nothing Else Matters", which in and of itself is a very powerful thing.)

Hi Amanda, hope you are well, just 'discovered' the song Leeds United, coming from Leeds, being a keen LU fan, I have posted it on every LU site I know of, pasted it on loads of my mates facebook walls and absolutely love it. But, most of all, I would love to know where you found the inspiration to write the song? I would love to know, cheers.

    Amandaaa.
    Randomness.
Are you ever awake at night,
and you're so inside yourself (like, in your mind) that you just look at everything and wonder how everything is even here? And why you deserve it, and if you deserve it, and how completely beautiful everything is, especially when it's all shit crashing around your ears? I dunno if you knew what I meant, but I've been so spaced out lately and thinking about EVERYTHING. I thought I'd ask you.

Incredible. A reminder, too, that art can be found and expressed through anything.
